A convenient 28 miles west of Chicago in lovely DuPage County real estate, Naperville is one of the fastest-growing American communities. Straddling identities of both a growing metropolis and a small charming town, Naperville's downtown and residential neighborhoods offer a high quality of life for every socio-economic level.
Many of the 133,000 creative residents are having fun with historic downtown Naperville real estate. Whether tearing down older Naperville homes, renovating historic Naperville homes, building upscale custom homes in Naperville's downtown; people are seeking the neighborly atmosphere so dear to generations who have lived here. With a talented pool of professionals, Naperville homes in the $800,000 to $1 million with large acreage are going strong.

Each Naperville neighborhood has its own personality. The well-maintained parks, nearby schools, churches, pools, and meeting areas are woven into the tapestry of the neighborhoods. Centennial Beach, a six-acre outdoor aquatic park, has been cooling people off since 1931. Other summer traditions such as the Farmer's Market and the Municipal Band Summer Concerts Series add to the seasonal events like the parades on St. Patrick's Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day and annual festivals like the Rib Fest, Last Fling, and Octoberfest. With plenty of other recreational facilities and one hundred parks, neighborhoods have a variety of green places to roam. The Riverwalk, brick pathways along the DuPage River through downtown, features fountains, a large sled hill, an eatery and the Riverwalk amphitheater. Golfers can choose from seven area courses and multitudes throughout Chicagoland.
As the oldest community in the county, Captain Joseph Naper brought his family to this beautiful location near the river and major trails in 1831. An authentic reproduction of a 19th-century community called Naper Settlement will take you back in time to feel what it was like in that era. The museum is complete with costumed interpreters, historic reenactments, a Victorian home, an 1830's log house, and a replica of the Pre-Emption House, the first hotel and tavern west of Chicago.

Another unique attraction is the Millennium Carillon or the Grand Carillon. The Carillon has seventy-two bronze bells, the largest of which weighs almost six tons, which play musical selections three times a day. During the summer recital series, artists from around the world take delight in playing this incredible instrument, one of four in existence.
Naperville has been voted the "Most Kid-Friendly City in America," and offers two award-winning public school systems that have earned acknowledgement for the "Best Science" and "Best Math" students in the world. Along with town's 125-year-old North Central College, the College of DuPage, DePaul University, and Loyola University have extension campuses here. And everyone can freely learn using a library system with top rankings in the U.S.A.
A variety of shopping options, from large centers to boutiques complement what Chicago magazine called, "an oasis of fine dining in the Western suburbs." Both increasingly serve employees of large corporations such as General Motors, Nalco and Crate & Barrel that are moving in. Even with growth, the rich historic charm and strong community spirit endure.
And with the Windy City and more world-class shopping, dining, entertainment, museums, and airports only a 45 to 60-minute drive away, living in this classic suburb gives residents the best of both worlds. That's why it's so popular.
